We weren't quite sure what to expect from a show with the word Retro in it, would it be vintage vehicles vying for a sub 60 second quarter mile ET, or would it be full of early model cars with tuned Cossie and Jap engine transplants. We weren't even close with either of those. The fact is the Retro Show is probably one of the quirkiest but strangely entertaining shows we have ever been to at the Pod. Everything from MG Midgets in concours condition to 8000BHP Funny cars and everything in between! There were cars there that we had forgotten even existed, like Simca's and even a Trabant. The car we loved the most was the Mazda MX5 with a huge blown V8 under the bonnet and the brave guy in an old (could have been rat look or could have just been under restoration) Volvo Amazon estate that just about scrapped a sub 30 second run with a terminal speed of just over 38mph.
